Bad reseption with Sony Ericsson unlocked cell phone?
Last year I bought the K800A outside of eBay. I bought the phone because it was so good as the phones sold in the AT & T. Only for much less money. I paid $ 200, and thought I was getting a phone that work in the United States, I live in New Jersey. My signal can be strong when I'm on the phone, however, drops calls me quite often, and not have a sign in the houses or buildings. I was reading somewere that you may have to unlock my phone, because AT & T might be blocking a signal? How could this be if it calls an "open phone" and I have a sign? It's just a very poor signal. If there is nothing I can do the phone, I am looking at the possibility of getting this phone from TigerDirect http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3503066&Sku=S09-1162 # exchange_info It is quad band, so I think that should work well in America, right? = (
I looked for information on the existing telephone, but could find none, but what appears is that you bought a phone that only has GSM phone service here in the States is the first generation wireless connection, therefore, very slow and erratic service. The same thing happens when I bought a Sony Ericsson 950I, although it is a G # the phone frequencies used here in the states of service is different from other countries. The current phone you're seeing seems to be fine here.
